Jimmy nails his intimate Stories and Songs show on the banks of the Big River

Jimmy perched himself on a barstool-style chair with only his trusted pianist alongside him for all but a few songs as he reeled through a career's worth of tunes and tales. As he orchestrated the female and male audience members to take on their relevant parts, it seemed the men in the crowd particularly enjoyed their two-word cameo - she's lying. The hugely impressive location sits on the Gateshead side of the River Tyne that heavily features in his iconic tune, Big River, so it was fitting that he ended on the poignant tune before getting a very well deserved standing ovation.
