Privacy and analytics
Optional analytics
When Google Analytics is enabled on the public site, you can accept or decline analytics cookies. Google Analytics helps us understand which pages are visited. It loads after you accept, and your choice is remembered in this browser.
You can change your choice using Cookie settings in the footer. Declining keeps analytics off; withdrawing consent removes this site's Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page. If your browser blocks saved preferences, you may be asked again on your next visit.
This integration sends page paths with a generic page title. Search terms, article URL parameters, URL fragments and referring URLs are omitted. Google advertising and personalization features are disabled. Local development and admin pages are excluded.
News and images
News links open publisher websites. Some story images load directly from the publishers' image services, which receive the image request. Publisher sites have their own privacy practices.
Your browser preference
The site stores your analytics choice in your browser to remember it on later visits. This preference is separate from the optional Google Analytics cookies.
